Big changes are happening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Construction continues on the highly anticipated Tropical Americas expansion, and our latest photos show exciting progress as the new land takes shape.

If you follow along with MickeyBlog, you know that the former DinoLand U.S.A. area is undergoing a major transformation into Pueblo Esperanza, a fictional village inspired by the tropical regions of the Americas.

At the beginning of the month, progress highlighted new stucco and additional framework. Let’s check out the latest construction updates.

New Buildings and Themed Details Take Shape

During our latest visit, MickeyBlog spotted construction crews working high above the walls, where large rooftops are taking shape.

Protective roofing materials cover several structures, while bright yellow sections and steep rooflines offer a closer look at the developments.

Additional buildings are surrounded by scaffolding and protective coverings as crews continue exterior work.

Here is another great look:

The green walls are blocking the majority of guest view but we can see a little bit of the progress. Nearby, steel framing, construction equipment, and additional structures show how much activity is underway.

You can also see that more scrim has been added over the archways.

And additional brickwork is being done!

The transformation is definitely happening, and we are so excited at the progress that is happening day by day.

Although plenty of work remains, the latest photos offer an encouraging look at the exciting transformation.
